The McClure Library Learning Center is an active, student-centered area of our school. The LLC provides our students with materials that support school projects, promotes leisure reading, provides information in areas of self-interest, allows students to access software to work on school projects, and provides connection to the Internet. Along with a wide variety of books, we have magazines, books-on-tape, educational games, videos that are used in classrooms, music that students use to make multimedia presentations, a photocopier, and network printers that are connected to all computers. Currently, we have 14 computers available for students to work on school projects. We have an automated library circulation system that can be accessed from any computer in the building.

Information Literacy is something that is very important to us. It is essential for students to know how to effectively search for information, both in traditional books and on the Internet. One of our goals is to teach our students how to more effectively research information. To help us reach this goal we have a subscription to InfoTrac Junior, an excellent full-text database of newspaper, magazine and reference materials available to the entire school district community, both in school and at home. The URL and password to access this from home is available in the McClure student assignment notebook.

At registration parents are offered the opportunity to join The Friends of the McClure Library Club. The money collected from this fundraiser supplements the materials budget of the library. Members of this club have their names on a dedicated bulletin board in the LLC.

The Library Learning Center and computer lab opens at 7:40 am for students who need to work on school projects. A note from a parent or teacher is required for this early-bird. The library and computer lab stays open Monday – Thursday until 5:00 pm. We are not open after school on Fridays.
