Orchestra: Ms. Hettinga708-485-2543khettinga@d101.org Greetings Orchestra Parents and Musicians, Orchestra is a place where you can develop your musical talents, work together with friends who have similar interests, and learn to express yourself in an ensemble. With the right attitude learning a stringed instrument can be fun and rewarding. You have been given a great opportunity to learn an instrument. Western Springs has a strong orchestra program with the nicest hard working students, helpful staff and supportive parents. Can it get much better than that!?!? This year I want to stress open communication between the parents, and the students, and me to help the program run smoothly. I will do my best to communicate with you, the parent, about how your students are doing in class and hope that you will communicate with me any questions and concerns. Schedule Reminders: **6th
graders will start rehearsing during 10th period on September 8. **7th and 8th graders will have their first AM rehearsal at 7:30am on Tuesday, September 8. Field Park, Forest Hills, Laidlaw Information regarding 4th grade registration and 5th grade rehearsals will be sent home this week! Instrument Care: As the weather changes, please make sure your child's instrument is kept at a moderate temperature. Avoid leaving the instrument in a cold car, or in front of a heater. Changes in temperature can cause cracks, strings to break and instruments to go out of tune. |
