ABSENCE/ATTENDANCE
When an illness occurs, parents are asked to call the school office by 8:30 a.m. to report an absence. If no call has been received, the office staff will attempt to contact parents using phone numbers provided on the parent emergency form. The "Absence Line" may be accessed if you call the school office, and no one is available to answer your call.

VACATION
Prearranged absences (three days or more) are to be approved prior to family vacations or business trips. Student request forms can be obtained from the office.

TARDY TO SCHOOL

Any student reporting to school after 8:10 a.m. is to report to the Main Office. Students with written excuses or parents who accompany them to the office will be given an excused tardy. Parent phone calls to validate a late arrival will be accepted until 12 Noon. All other students will receive an unexcused tardy. Doctor, dentist or orthodontist appointments are examples of excused tardies. Sleeping in, alarm clock malfunctions, etc., are unexcused tardies. With every third, unexcused tardy within a semester, students will receive a detention, and the parents will be notified.

TARDY TO CLASS
Any student reporting to class after the bell/tone needs to have a written pass from a teacher to excuse the tardy. If a student does not have a pass, an unexcused tardy will be recorded by the teacher. Any student who accumulates three unexcused tardies within a grading period will receive a discipline referral.

EARLY DEPARTURE
Parents requesting early student departure are asked to turn a written note into the office the morning of the date of departure. Students will be issued a pass to the office at the departure time. Parents are asked to come to the school office to pick up/sign out any student with an early departure. Parents may request permission for students to walk to appointments; however, this request must be in writing. Students who are excused for an illness may not walk home.
